    This is great. Deleting the MSF files, fixed the periodic freezing of Tbird every 10 minutes or so.

    Deleting the msf files worked for me. It was so frustrating the whole time and it's not freezing anymore every couple of seconds. Thanks for providing the fix.

    I can't believe how many .msf files there are. Every subfolder has one. Should I be deleting all across every account folder?

      Yes. But, for security reasons move them to another location (folder) on disk and delete them after everything is OK.

    THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH ! Windows Defender was the cause of this issue. I have allowed the Thunderbird exe and this fixed my problem.
