FIX: Airplane Mode Turns On and Off continuously (Solved)
If the Airplane mode continuously turns on/off by itself, read this article to fix the problem.
A few days ago, after installing updates on a laptop, airplane mode started turning on and off constantly, as if someone kept pressing and repressing the Airplane on/off switch.
After I checked and made sure the airplane mode button wasn't pressed, I then went to updates to see what device driver updates were installed that could cause this problem. Of all the installed drivers there was one that I didn't recognize, named: Insyde – HIDClass
So I decided to search the net, to find out what the "Insyde – HIDClass" driver is. And luckily, I found it in the Microsoft Update catalog with a description: Driver Model: Insyde Airplane Mode HID Mini-Driver, which seems to be the driver for the "airplane mode" button (physical switch). And yes, that was the culprit! If you face the same issue, read the instructions below to fix the problem.
How to FIX: Airplane Mode Constantly Switching On and Off in Windows 10/11.
1. Type "device manager" in Search and then open Device Manager.
2. in Device Manager, expand Human Interface Devices and then right-click at Insyde Airplane Mode Mode HID Mini-Driver and choose Uninstall device.
3. Then, check the Delete the driver software for tis device option and click Uninstall.
4. After uninstalling the Insyde Airplane Mode driver, the problem should be fixed.
5. Now, go ahead and prevent "Insyde Airplane Mode driver" from automatically reinstalling during Windows update.
6. Download the Show or Hide Updates troubleshooter tool from the link below:
7. Run the downloaded file (wushowhide.diagcab), click Next at the first screen and then click Hide Updates.
8. Select he Insyde – HIDClass driver and click Next.
9. Let the troubleshooter to finish and then click Close. *
* Note: As mentioned above, the "Insyde – HIDClass" driver is responsible for the "Airplane Mode" button operation. In case you want to enable or disable the Airplane Mode after uninstalling the "Insyde – HIDClass" driver, you can do so by clicking the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar and then clicking the Airplane mode icon. Alternatively, see if your laptop manufacturer has a driver for the "Airplane Mode" button or another driver for the "Insyde – HIDClass".
That's all folks! Did it work for you?
