    Nothing worked :( I tried all the steps and still no internet connection… Any other tricks??

      @agata: Maybe your WiFi card is damaged. Have you tried with a cable?

    No, none of these worked. And I tried all of them (some before I found this article).
    What did work was very simple.
    I just went to create a new Wireless Network connection.
    And in seconds WLAN Autoconfig is running again.
    And I'm connected !
    That's after I spent an entire work day trying everything short of a Repair Install.

    Most of those solutions are present in other spots on the internet but what made the difference was the last set of instructions (6) and mainly spot 6.4 –
    That really did the trick!
    So this is SOLVED for me.

    I have the same problem in my Desktop, Windows 7. Still struggling with WiFi adapter, not connected yet. The above didn't work in my case. Any clue?

      Navigate to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. Click Manage wireless networks and remove all the Wireless networks. When done, try to connect to your WiFi network.
