We had a similar problem with a Lenovo T480 laptop freezing at the Lenovo Logo screen. It was traced to a dead hard drive. The laptop took forever to enter BIOS, then often froze whilst in the BIOS. It would sometimes show the "Windows Boot Manager" as an option in the Boot Menu, sometimes not.

Lenovo Diagnostics, which took approx 4 hours, showed that everything passed, although it doesn't run tests on the hard drive! Why not? Perhaps because it couldn't find a hard drive & diagnostics didn't see that as worth flagging up?

It seems strange that the laptop doesn't report an inability to boot to Windows, which would normally be a giveaway of a dead hard drive, but instead simply freezes up.

Lenovo seem to be experiencing quite a number of failures, (I'm not a fan!), and have released some critical drivers to cover Thunderbolt issues at https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht508988

This is a great site for all sorts of fixes for various computer problems. Keep up the good work!
