Files you are saying to look for are not fond. I have a fresh startup of windows 10 and there is no per-existing google installation. No files as you specify,..
I am still however getting the Unspecified Error message and unable to install chrome. Have not had a successful attempt, so again, no files as you specify exist.

@Andrew: This is strange. Try to run the Chrome installer with Administrative privileges. (Right click on installer > Run as Administrator) or try to install an older version of chrome.

I've tried everything including this topic. I'm at a loss right now for what I can do. I've run scans with my antivirus as suggested and nothing is working. I don't have McAfee on my laptop at all as I've never been a fan of that specific brand. I can download just about any other browser but Chrome isn't letting me reinstall it.
**I've uninstalled due to some issues with it and was going to reinstall right away because that helped the last time I had the same issue. Below is what I keep getting:

When I got to this stage, 4. Now navigate to this subfolder: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Update\Clients\{430FD4D0-B729-4F61-AA34-91526481799D} and clicked on update, the only subfolders listed were ClientState, network and proxy. I clicked on ClientState, but none of the options matched what I was supposed to look for. What now?
